To ensure that P22 continues to bring you more exciting, historically relevant type, please take the time to read this agreement. Helvetica is one of the most famous and popular typefaces in the world. It lends an air of lucid efficiency to any typographic message with its clean, no-nonsense shapes. The original typeface was called Haas Grotesk, and was designed in 1957 by Max Miedinger for the Haas'sche Schriftgiesserei (Haas Type Foundry) in Switzerland. In 1960 the name was changed to Helvetica (an adaptation of Helvetia, the Latin name for Switzerland). Over the years, the Helvetica family was expanded to include many different weights, but these were not as well coordinated with each other as they might have been. In 1983, D. Stempel AG and Linotype re-designed and digitized Neue Helvetica and updated it into a cohesive font family. To make a warranty claim, you must return the Font Software to the location from which you obtained it along with a copy of your sales receipt within such ninety (90) day period. The entire, exclusive, and cumulative liability and remedy shall be limited to the refund of the license fee you paid to TT to obtain delivery of the Font Software. Neither the warranty nor technical support do not apply to any font software converted or modified by the user.15. Disclaimer of warranties. The first three weights of the family were designed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1997 by Dmitry Kirsanov. They were based on the artworks of Moscow graphic designer Andrey Kryukov (1923-1997). The original version was developed by Kryukov in the end of sixties for Russian railways. The proportions and elements of construction was inspired by Eurostile (1962) by Aldo Novarese. For use in advertising and display typography. In 2009 Dmitry together with adding the new styles corrected the old ones and enhanced them with extended character set.

As it is accepted in world practice, software distribution is carried out by a licensing agreement between the owner of the copyrights and the end users. Adrian Frutiger designed Avenir in 1988, after years of having an interest in sans serif typefaces. In an interview with Linotype, he said he felt an obligation to design a linear sans in the tradition of Erbar and Futura, but to also make use of the experience and stylistic developments of the twentieth century. The word Avenir means 'future' in French and hints that the typeface owes some of its interpretation to Futura. But unlike Futura, Avenir is not purely geometric; it has vertical strokes that are thicker than the horizontals, an o that is not a perfect circle, and shortened ascenders. These nuances aid in legibility and give Avenir a harmonious and sensible appearance for both texts and headlines. In 2004 Adrian Frutiger and the type director of Linotype GmbH Akira Kobayashi reworked the Avenir and created the Avenir Next for the Platinum Collection. It includes new small caps, newly designed true italics, and a complete new range of condensed weights. Avenir Next is a versatile sans serif family, ready for large and complex projects from books to signage to advertising.
