Following Generis, Aeonis is Erik Faulhaber's second large type family. Lapidary inscriptions from Ancient Greece supured Faulhaber on to create this typeface?s basic sans serif forms. This clarity is visible in the simplified form of the typeface's capital A. Further inspiration came from a domed lamp designed in 1952 by Wilhelm Wagonfeld; this went on to inspire the roundness in Aeonis. Faulhaber sees the conflict between antiquity and modernity as a struggle between angular and round forms; Aeonis reconciles these trends. By removing spurs at the stems of the lowercase letters, Aeonis reduces the alphabet to its most basic movements; and in order to further strengthen reading speed, all of the unnecessary horizontal elements lave been left out of the lowercase letters and numbers, too. Aeonis is available in three widths and seven weights. Its open letterforms ensure legibility at small sizes. Aeonis works both in complex text layouts and simple logos. As was the case in the Generis family, all of the numbers, currency symbols, mathematical signs, and punctuation marks in the Aeonis fonts have a coordinated system of widths, ensuring their suitability for tables and financial reports. All of its members of the Aeonis family may easily be used with each other; their design combines a contemporary character with sophisticated typography.

The design of Sabon Next by Jean Franois Porchez, a revival of a revival, was a double challenge: to try to discern Jan Tschicholds own schema for the original Sabon, and to interpret the complexity of a design originally made in two versions for different typecasting systems. The first was designed for use on Linotype and Monotype machines, and the second for Stempel hand composition. Because the Stempel version does not have the constraints necessary for types intended for machine composition, it seems closer to a pure interpretation of its Garamond ancestor. Naturally Porchez based Sabon Next on this second version and also referred to original Garamond models, carefully improving the proportions of the existing digital Sabon while matching its alignments. The new family is large and versatile - with Roman and italic in 6 weights from regular to black. Most weights also have small caps, oldstyle figures, alternates (swashes, ligatures, etc); and there is one ornament font with many lovely fleurons. The standard versions include revised lining figures that are intentionally designed to be a little smaller than capitals. Sabon Next is part of the Linotype Platinum Collection.

The first character built in this font was the E, which was inspired by enormous Chinese calligraphy on the side of a truck that delivered rice to Chinese restaurants. After the E was shaped properly, it dictated the rules of stroke and angularity for the rest of the font's characters. This font was named Ergonome because its overall appearance somewhat reminds of hand-rests or ergonomic keyboard extensions. It is recommended to use this font at sizes larger than 14 point.

Univers Next is a completely reworked version of the original Univers family of typefaces designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1957. After a long process of painstakingly detailed revision, Adrian Frutiger and the design team at Linotype completed this large joint project in 1997. The result: a brilliant and cohesive font family of 63 weights and styles including the 4 monospaced typewriter weights. All the existing weights were completely redrawn, with careful attention paid to making the proportions more consistent with each other and improving fine details such as curves and thick-to-thin stroke ratios. The family was expanded from 27 to 63 weights, providing a much larger framework to graphic designers for choosing just the right style. The bold and condensed weights were reworked for improved legibility and on-screen application. The stroke weights were revised for consistency within each face as well as in relationship to the other weights. By following Frutiger's original designs, the humanist character of the sans serif Univers now comes through more distinctly. The systemized numbering system has also been updated. With its sturdy, clean forms Univers can facilitate an expression of cool elegance and rational competence. In fact, the strong familial relationships between all the styles and weights make it a serviceable choice for large graphic design projects that require versatility with consistency. Frutiger was successful in staying true to his initial aims; the new Linotype Univers does indeed work in longer texts as well as for display settings. The Univers Next Family is a part of the Linotype Platinum Collection and was formerly named Linotype Univers.
