    Description

Copyright 2005-2008 by PampaType FoundryPampaType is an independent type foundry based in Argentina and Mexico and run by Alejandro Lo Celso.Special info from PampaType: Thank you for having purchased this type. We dedicate a huge effort in our typefaces both technically and creatively. We hope you enjoy this type and we encourage you to take the most advantage of its styles.Roberto Arlt, Argentinean writer from early XXth century, wrote some very original novels all of which 'Siete locos' ('Seven Madmen') is maybe the most celebrated piece. The Arlt type family is based on his oeuvre. It has a Baroque style interpretated with an expressionist, more contemporary flair. This means the type is full of intense contrasts and vivid, expressive feelings. The italics make a specially dynamic rhythm on text. The Arlt text fonts come in four weights including roman, italics, and small caps. They offer a colourful, spicy though comfortable immerse reading. They are ideal for literature books, specially for suspense novels and sordid stories of the underworld. Its use under other circumstances may be dangerous! The 'Arlt Titulo' fonts were carefully designed to be used in titlings and other display settings. They will look more elegant at big body sizes, above 24 pt. The 'Arlt 7 Locos', a sub-family of seven fonts, resulted of a more relaxed exploration on how to thoroughly destroy a series of carefully designed letterforms. They can be misteriously attractive when used in small text printed over rough quality papers.Visit www.PampaType.com if interested in knowing better about the 'Arlt' typeface designs.Arlt is a trademark of PampaType.

    Description

DIN Next is a typeface family inspired by the classic industrial German engineering designs, DIN 1451 Engschrift and Mittelschrift. Akira Kobayashi began by revising these two faceswho names just mean condensed and regularbefore expanding them into a new family with seven weights (Light to Black). Each weight ships in three varieties: Regular, Italic, and Condensed, bringing the total number of fonts in the DIN Next family to 21. DIN Next is part of Linotypes Platinum Collection. Linotype has been supplying its customers with the two DIN 1451 fonts since 1980. Recently, they have become more popular than ever, with designers regularly asking for additional weights. The abbreviation DIN stands for Deutsches Institut fr Normung e.V., which is the German Institute for Industrial Standardization. In 1936 the German Standard Committee settled upon DIN 1451 as the standard font for the areas of technology, traffic, administration and business. The design was to be used on German street signs and house numbers. The committee wanted a sans serif, thinking it would be more legible, straightforward, and easy to reproduce. They did not intend for the design to be used for advertisements and other artistically oriented purposes. Nevertheless, because DIN 1451 was seen all over Germany on signs for town names and traffic directions, it became familiar enough to make its way onto the palettes of graphic designers and advertising art directors. The digital version of DIN 1451 would go on to be adopted and used by designers in other countries as well, solidifying its worldwide design reputation. There are many subtle differences in DIN Nexts letters when compared withe DIN 1451 original. These were added by Kobayashi to make the new family even more versatile in 21st-century media. For instance, although DIN 1451s corners are all pointed angles, DIN Next has rounded them all slightly. Even this softening is a nod to part of DIN 1451s past, however. Many of the signs that use DIN 1451 are cut with routers, which cannot make perfect corners; their rounded heads cut rounded corners best. Linotypes DIN 1451 Engschrift and Mittelschrift are certified by the German DIN Institute for use on official signage projects. Since DIN Next is a new design, these applications within Germany are not possible with it. However, DIN Next may be used for any other project, and it may be used for industrial signage in any other country! DIN Next has been tailored especially for graphic designers, but its industrial heritage makes it surprisingly functional in just about any application. DIN Next Arabic is designed by Lebanese designer Nadine Chahine as a companion to the iconic DIN Next typeface. Its designed is a clean hybrid of Kufi and Naskh structures and is suited for titles and short runs of text. Its curves are very monolinear and mechanical in forms. This typeface has an industrial look that is suited for technical implementations. It is ideally suited for corporate communication, branding, packaging, and advertising design. Its open and clear counters makes it suitable for low resolution devices. The font includes the basic Latin part of DIN Next and support for Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. It also includes proportional and tabular numerals for the supported languages.

    Description

PT Serif is a universal type family designed for use together with PT Sans released earlier. PT Serif coordinates with PT Sans on metrics, proportions, weights and design. It consists of six styles: regular and bold weights with corresponding italics form a standard computer font family; two caption styles (regular and italic) are for texts of small point sizes. The letterforms are distinguished by large x-height, modest stroke contrast, robust wedge-like serifs, and triangular terminals. Due to these features the face can be qualified as matched to modern trends of type design and of enhanced legibility. Mentioned characteristics beside conventional use in business applications and printed stuff make the fonts quite useable for advertising and display typography. Each font next to standard Latin and Cyrillic character sets contains alphabet glyphs of title languages of the national republics of Russian Federation and support the most of the languages of neighboring countries. The fonts were developed and released by ParaType in 2010 with financial support from Federal Agency of Print and Mass Communications of Russian Federation. Design -- Alexandra Korolkova with assistance of Olga Umpeleva and supervision of Vladimir Yefimov.
